While many of us are stuck inside, I wanted to see how you are doing and share a few activities that you can do with the whole family. Social distancing is important, but this can bring challenges with keeping busy! So I wanted to share with you an idea list of fun things you can do at home! Many of these will keep kiddos busy while you work or are a great family activity!
Whether out of cardboard or blankets, build a fort that the whole family can fit in! Make an easy lunch and have a picnic inside!
Pull out a classic board game for a family game night, play charades or learn a new card game!
Create a list of items around your home (even outside!) and have the kids search high and low to find them. You can even extend this to your neighborhood.
Have each member of the family choose out a movie and get together a watch list! You could even have a try at making your own homemade films!
Print out some coloring and activity pages online and hunker down at the kitchen table!
If you have some seeds leftover from last years planting, have the kids help you plant a few small pots that you can place in the windowsill and watch grow!

Here is a simple recipe for slime that can be made with 3 simple ingredients many already have around their homes:
- 2 (4oz) bottles of washable school glue
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2-3 tablespoons saline solution divided (i.e contact solution)
- 1-2 drops liquid food coloring (optional)
- 4/1 cup glitter (optional)
Try a new sweet recipe or a classic favorite in the kitchen as a whole family. Don't forget to decorate!
Take a walk or bike ride around the neighborhood. Just be sure to keep your distance!
Stay connected with friends and family through video calls! Keeping social is important even at a distance.
I hope that these ideas get you thinking and help make this time easier. I would love to hear what you are doing to keep your family busy while you are at home. Wishing you the very best!
